:Wine Type
This wine comes from the Maple Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. It is a beautiful bench land vineyard on the east side of northern ry Creek owned by Tom and Tina Maple. Tina's block is the oldest block of the vineyard with vine age averaging 90 years old, and is farmed by Tina herself. The block is an Old Italian field blend with the bulk of the vineyard consisting of Zinfandel grapes, but mixed in are Petite Sirah, Carignane, Alicante and some vines that no one can identify. This field blend creates a very complex, rich, out of this world wine. Only 7 months in the barrel and this wine is already showing tons of deep dark fruit, black cherry, and brown spice. The color is inky, the mouth feel is luscious and velvety that's framed in silky tannin. Some of the beautiful oak this wine is ageing in is already starting to show through to add some toasty vanilla flavors. This wine will age for at least 24 months before bottling, and will cellar for 10 - 20 years.
