The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, ruby-red in color, with aromas of cherry, red current, raspberry, dark chocolate, black pepper and anise. On the palate, the wine is velvety, smooth, viscous, and elegant, with lingering fruit and fine grain tannins on the finish. Merlot grapes from the Hardman Vineyard, located in the Eastern portion of the mid Napa Valley, are used for our Merlot Wine and also used to blend into the Cabernet wine. Soils analysis revealed a layer of clay under the fertile top soil. The appropriate root stock was selected for these soil conditions. This vineyard produces a smooth, fruity yet bold Merlot.
