The source for our Barcaglia Lane Chardonnay is a single rolling vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Developed for us by the Dutton Family in 1998, the site consists of 3 sloping blocks planted to three distinct clones - 15, Dijon 95, and Old Wente - which yield increasingly ripe and complex fruit characters. The 2005 vintage delivers superlative depth and intensity, with layers of blood orange, pear nectar, citrus blossom, honeysuckle, and seductive oak spices. Saturated, rich and round with a deeply fruited core, it retains integrated acidity that brings balance and great length to the wine.
