This is our second and last but best vintage of the Korte Ranch Zinfandel. Both the fruit and extraction is very concentrated and intense for this 100% Zin. The alcohol level is at 14.8 which allows for great balance for such an oppulant wine. There are delightful aromatics including white pepper, black cherry, rhubarb, and dried sage. The mouth is filled with a blast of rich fruit led by zesty boysenberry, spice, and mineral-edged plum. The intricate finish is a blend of mixed wild berries, maple, and slightly creamy oak. Tannins are supple, ripe and luscious bringing one back for more.
