:Wine Rating
:Wine Type
The nose is clean and fresh with tropical fruit overtones, on the palette a well balanced wine adds a streak of French oak running through the apple and pear flavors that linger on into the finish of a mild honeyed sweetness and crisp aftertaste. Think peaches, apricot and nectarine with a long balanced vanilla finish.
Contains hints of nutmeg. This wine pairs well with Grilled Salmon, Heirloom Tomato Salad or just by itself.
This wine pairs well with light cheeses and anti pasta or a first course of mild soup and salad possibly a seafood salad.
Winemaking
This Chardonnay was picked early in the morning and whole cluster pressed while it was still cold. Ten months “Sur Lee” in Cadus and Francois Ferreir French Oak. The Los Carneros region is known for its ability to produce world class Chardonnay and this wine is no exception.
The Carneros region in Napa Valley is the South Eastern edge of the valley that has a distinct Pacific Marine influence due to its proximity to the bay, the water cools down the air in the day and in the evening that is the desired micro climate for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. This is the Napa Valley's most prized grape growing region for Chardonnay. Gary Galleron is the Bourassa Vineyards consulting winemaker.
