Pacific Rim Dry Riesling, 2005

:Wine Rating
The basic premise of PRR is as follows: Eastern Washington is a brilliant place to grow riesling. The preternaturally cool, clear weather in late September and early October in these far northern latitudes enables one to both fully ripen riesling, as well as maintain good natural acidity. But as brilliant as the Washington grapes are, they are lacking the haunting floral perfume and crushing acidity that occurs only in the brilliant wines of the Mittelmosel. Thus, we blend in approximately 25% German riesling into the Washington component, and we end up with a product that is absolutely stunning and unique—the best of several worlds.
