Aromas of spiced plums and brown sugar, with hints of smoke and truffle, bloom into flavors of red and black cherries, caramel, and red plums, plus a subtly spicy cinnamon tang. Medium-bodied, with good traction across the mid-palate and bright acid, the wine offers generous fruit that carries through the finish, with overtones of truffle. Enjoy this Merlot with grilled pork topped with a sauce made from Port and black cherries, or take it on a picnic with a loaf of dark bread and a wedge of Cambozola cheese.
