Take part in the celebration of the centuries-old tradition of grape harvesting hosted by the winemaking team of Domaine du Closel - Château des Vaults.

On the 27th of September and 11th of October Domaine du Closel-Château des Vaults invites you to spend the day at the historic 17 hectares (42-acre) vineyard in the Savennières appellation of the Loire Valley; a vineyard with the best terroirs of the region.

Program:
Harvest adventure

11am Discovery of a great “Terroir”
The winemaker Evelyne de Pontbriand will take you through a fascinating adventure during which you will discover a very protected ecosystem and the secret life of a great “terroir”.

12h30 Brunch in the vineyard with traditional harvest songs and dances . Breathtaking view over the World Heritage Loire valley*

2pm Initiation into the grape harvest’s secrets. Partake in sorting and handpicking grapes from 100 years old vines.

3.30pm Pressing and crushing of your own crop. Experience feet pressing and crushing with an old-fashioned press. You will be given a bottle of the jus de bernache (juice that has just run off the press) to take home for future enjoyment.

5pm Tasting in the Château. You are invited to taste through the Domaine du Closel-Château des Vaults portfolio of wines


Harvest evening

6pm Relaxation and enjoyment time in the library with a surprise cocktail.

8.30pm The harvests’ night
To celebrate the day’s events, join us for the Gourmet Harvest Dinner. One of the region’s top chefs will prepare a menu specifically designed to provide a perfect pairing with our wines. We look forward to seeing you here this fall!
