Review: Eric Montintin Sauvignon 2008 Loire Valley, France

Author By: Meghan Dwyer

This Sauvignon Blanc from its spiritual home in the Loire Valley appears pale, straw-yellow in the glass, with hints of green.  Its nose typically exhibits gooseberry and fresh-cut grass, and a-typically, notes of asparagus and lemon.  On the palette, stony lemon, more fresh-cut grass, and tropical fruit shine through.  The acidity felt a little lacking, and the wine dropped off mid-palate, finishing abruptly, and tartly.  Yet, with a price-tag of $15, both interesting and fresh.
